Since the launch of our new breakfast menu at Muntigs Bar & Restaurant at Batu Karang Lembongan Resort & Day Spa, every morning has been as exciting as waking up on your birthday with all of the new healthy and delicious plates & bowls to start your day! A unique and new favourite addition to the menu, inspired by Moroccan and Isreali cuisine, Chef Matthias Beer has brought us the Dukkah-Spiced Shakshoukah (pronounced “shack-shoo-ka”), meaning “Mixture” in some Arabic dialects. Made with a tomato sauce base, the eggs are baked in a cast iron fry pan, finished with creme fraiche and house-made Dukkah Spice, fresh parsley, and a side of daily baked fresh toasted sourdough bread. Wow. It is simply divine. If it is even possible, this could be described as healthy comfort food – the best of both worlds! The flavours & textures of tomato with Eastern spices balanced with baked egg, this unique new addition to the menu is sure to impress your palate.
