For any guest visiting Muntigs Bar & Restaurant over the last three months, you may have noticed an abundance of young smiles on service. While we strive to provide the best possible service for our guests, these additional keen adolescents are not just to assist in service. They are here to learn and develop, so that when they are finished their schooling, they have applicable skills to take them into the hospitality industry. For years now, we have been supporting the local schools and villages in conducting a Trainee Programme, where the students leave school for 12 weeks and come under the guidance and training of our experienced staff. Following their time with us, they return to school to complete their education, and some have potential permanent jobs when they are ready to participate in the Nusa Lembongan work force, and all have skills and experience ready to start earning their living. This Programme is something we are very proud of, and one of the ways we are able to give back to the local community, as well as meet the new faces around the Island. While the students have now gone back to school, you may still find one or two with us in the evenings for the next few months. And you may be surprised how many of our experienced staff developed from being a Trainee all of those years ago, still with us!
